In the Wild

Day 7 of plein air painting on Cape Breton Island. We were so lucky with the weather! Many days of dryness and sunshine which is always welcome...especially when you're camping! I had my eye on this little clump of wild flowers since we arrived and knew I'd paint it before leaving.
I typically stand to paint but I wanted an eye level view of the flowers so this low beach chair was perfect. I used my wet panel carrier to elevate the pochade box a bit and just held the whole thing on my lap. It worked quite well and was surprisingly comfortable.

I got some stones from the beach to wedge under the chair...perfect!
Oil on panel, $100 + $10 domestic shipping
