Simon the Great

This is Simon. He belongs to our daughter's bf's family. I've never met Simon but if the stories I've heard are any indication, he's quite the colorful character! He was a joy to paint... I mean a parrot AND a cherry!

On another note, we are heading out for our annual wilderness camping trek on beautiful Cape Breton Island. I won't be posting for 3 weeks...but I'll be painting  a LOT! Any paintings sold while we are away, I will ship the first week of August. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

Heads or Tails - Diptych

This is the first diptych I've created using the 6" x 6" panels. It was FUN painting these two together simultaneously. The two hang separately side by side(or with a small space...whatever is your preference) so the final piece looks like the above image. Below you can see the heads and the tails. The two pieces are sold as a pair for $175. That's a discount! :o)

Who, Us?

I had a terrible reference photo to work from for this one. Very dull, little color...almost like an old sepia toned photograph. So I'm especially pleased with how it turned out. Plus their expressions crack me up!

Two things in particular really tickled me about this guy...his ear shadow and his dimple when he smiled. Oh, and I like his faded red collar, too.
