A Little Bird Told Me

We feed the birds year round and are lucky to have  hosted bluejays, chickadees, turkeys, hummingbirds, cardinals, woodpeckers, barn swallows, finches and many many more...including this sparrow who perched long enough on the deck railing for me to photograph.

Sweet little bird Brenda. Like how you've depicted him.

This little guy is great! And I agree with Maria BH...the contrast with very vague background and detailed birdie works great.

Wonderful! Love how you have captured the light in his feathers :)

American Tree Sparrow
Spizella arborea
stood still in a pose, basking
in the warmth of your brush strokes
and waited for that white touch
to add that gleam in its eye,
and then the brush flew away
leaving no seed but fine art.

Birdie really pops, love the atmospheric haziness behind.
