Waiting on a Friend

We've had such a lovely summer here in Maine and I was very fortunate to spend lots of time at the ocean.  I think seagulls are beautiful birds and this lightly spotted juvenile willingly posed for close-ups. (Actually I think he was eyeing our lunch...whatever...) It was a beautiful but a bit of a hazy day at Popham Beach. Because of this I was drawn to the subtlety of colors both in the wet sand and the bird. Here's the musical inspiration...of course. 
Oh, I've also begun Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. You can read more about it and see the entries here. I typically paint every day...but a bit of added motivation and artistic camaraderie never hurt! :o)
