A Shot of Color

We're currently in the midst of a significant spring snowstorm. 7" so far and it's predicted to continue through the night. I love it! I don't have much of a green thumb but luckily I do have some plants that survive in my studio and blossom for much of the year. This bloom is from one of my cyclamens. I like this little vase...it's a  transparent peachy color and small...in fact only an ounce big! My daughter informed me when I bought it long ago that it wasn't a tiny vase, but a shot glass...thus the title. I love this music!

A Shot of Color

Cyclamen flower
shimmers on water's
surface, while water
refracts and viewers
reflect on the art
as they drink it in.

I was scrolling through your blog and loved these flowers. Then i came across this one. What I love most is that I also have these "vases" for painting. Found the shot glasses at a thrift shop and knew I had to use them in a painting. Aren't they great? If you are interested in seeing my first attempt with the shot glass, here's my blog post: www.nancicharpentierart.blogspot.com. The "good fortune" series is clever and beautiful.
