Midas Touch

I had a blast painting this one. It's so...soft. I'm pleased with the colors in this one, too. Turkey feathers are so amazing. They literally have metallic gold on them. So I thought it was a perfect time to incorporate some real 22k Australian gold leaf. See the steps below. I got some new painting music today. Hey!

After the sizing was dry I carefully applied the leaf where I wanted it.

I then began painting as I normally would being careful to preserve  the gold leaf.

By the end I had preserved just enough of the leaf to help it realistically blend into the rest of the painting. It's quite lovely.

Golden

Midas had his gold,
what a skill.

Klimt gilded his Kiss,
what a skill.

Bren feathered her Touch,
what a skill.
