Pink Petals

I like playing with light. Here are some of the steps along the way.
 Oil on panel, 6" x 6"
SOLD

I toned the panel with Cadmium Red and sketched in the petals.

I used a bit of mineral spirits on a paper towel to remove the red tone for the lightest highlights.

Then began adding the color beginning with the darks...

...and working toward the lights.

I love these flowers! And they look great all hung together... It makes me want to paint flowers again. Did you ever see my flower paintings? That takes me back.... www.mkarimipour.com

You and Carol seem to be
painting variations on a theme
even if it wasn't intentional
and she painted hers a year later:

They're both great.
