Frosted

We got a couple inches of snow here in Maine a few weeks back. It didn't last long but was beautiful while it was here. I love this kind of dark dramatic sky and the way the late afternoon sun lights up the birches in our back field. Every time it happens I run out on the deck to see.

Oh, this painting is so charming. I, too, run outside every time I see that dark sky with the illuminated trees. Here in Michigan, that is absolutely autumn. My favorite time of year!
