Tip Me Over

Here's the second of three paintings I did recently of these cups. This one (above) was done on a panel coated with black gesso. Yesterday's was on a Cad Red ground. You can check that one out here. And here's some fun music to paint to. (To continue looking at the art while you listen, right click on the colored word 'music' and go to Open Link in New Tab.)
Here they are side by side...thanks for asking, Jeanne.
Oil on panel 6" x 6", $100 (with free display easel) + shipping

So cool, the black gesso really works well in so many situations. Gorgeous cups!

No. You tip ME over. The cup shapes are even more successful than in the previous "Leaning Tower". I see it, especially in the "dark" tones right around the highlight on the yellow cup, the green reflection on that yellow cup, the pink reflection of the red cup on the blue cup, and the dark, shadow side of the green cup. well done. I can sense the volume those cups would take up if I were to hold them in my hands. To feel it, by only looking at it ... What can I say, Brenda, it was worth doing this second one. Carolina
