Gone But Not Forgotten

Each summer we spend a week at a lakeside camp that's been in my husband's family since I've known him (Since 5th grade...that's a very long time!) When we arrived last summer, this small antique pitcher filled with pink mini carnations was on the dining room table. The flowers were dry and  had seen better days but I loved the way the sunlight kissed the edges from behind. That's what I was trying to capture. Here's the music that had me going today. (To continue looking at the art while you listen, right click on the colored word 'music' and go to Open Link in New Tab.)

I do backlit figures and faces all the time. Now I'm inspired to do backlit flowers!
This is beautiful.

Brenda, I have always loved your paintings...but this one just blows me away! I am just smitten...especially by those colors in the pitcher! So dreamy and gorgeous!
