E Pluribus Unum

More mushrooms from a while ago. This reminded me of the old Sesame Street segment called 'One of These Doesn't Belong'...remember that? I was pleased with the reflections.

Thought you might enjoy the process.

Hi Brenda, although I agree with you that the shadows really turned out well, I immediately saw something in this painting that was even stronger. To me, mushrooms are "quiet" vegetables, if there can be such a thing, in the forest they quietly go about their business. When I think of your multitudes-of-color style, I don't necessarily think of the word "quiet", but in this painting you have achieved that - no small feat. Thinking about painting subjects in terms of their "noise" is not something I would have even thought of before looking at your painting. I have a lot to learn. Again, I must also thank you for sharing the process. I so enjoy being privy to the learning process. Good work. Carolina

I would never have thought of a pink underpainting for this - but it's wonderful!

Nice Painting and thanks for sharing the process. It makes me want to try a bold red for the underpainting in my next oil. You're inspiring me to widen my horizons. Thanks!
