Oh, Brenda, I agree wholeheartedly. My favorite flower backs are those of the chocolate sunflowers. For some reason, I feel if this painting had been of the front view of the flower, then it would have been a painting of the flower - kind of like a flower "portrait", if you will. By painting the view of the back of the flower, it becomes more about the moment, like parenthesis on a bit of time that we took from our fast paced lives to really notice something special that may otherwise normally go unnoticed. My favorite color flower! Love the way it has all the warms and cools in the petals. The background is nicely varied.
