Peace by Piece

The crane is a symbol of happiness, good fortune and peace. I recently had the pleasure of participating in the Paper Cranes for Japan project to aid relief efforts. Click on the link to read more about this cool project. A couple of years ago I learned to fold paper cranes here.
The colorful crane in the painting was folded from recycled metallic wrapping paper. I was trying to capture that shiny quality in the painting...not sure if I did.
Oil on panel, 6" x 6" SOLD

Love the title and the painting...and the cause for which you sent off your incredible collection of paper cranes. I'll miss seeing them in your studio, but love knowing that you and they are flying on the wings of happiness, good fortune and peace.

Brenda, this is wonderful. I love the way you've highlighted the edges of the folds plus your use of warms and cools. Well done!
