All Dressed Up

I found these beautiful old boots at an 'antique' shop nearby called The Chicken Barn. I didn't buy them, but took plenty of photos. I loved the soft white-ish leather that was so worn it looked like velvet. This was a fun painting to do since it is essentially all warm grays. Laced through the tops of the boots were two wide satin ribbons, thus the title.
Oil on panel, 6" x 6", $100 (with free display easel) + shipping

Wonderful job on all the grays. The color scheme and the addition of the postcard (is that what it is?) convey a mood of age and mystery. I love that. Very nice painting!

Lovely soft texture in the boots. I like the hints of lavender that you repeated in the patina. Great job on that ribbon, also. Very satin-y!
