Waiting to Bloom

Though this hyacinth never bloomed, I love the purplish bulb and the way the flower tips tried to push their way out of the spring green shoot. Anyway, the showy blossom would have detracted from the simplicity of this. Here's some music I can't help but boogie to while I paint.

Still Life

The roots would never root,
the bloom would never bloom,
but . . .
the artist would still paint,
the bud that was a dud,
art.

I was a little sad when I read that it never bloomed...but it did make for quite a wonderful little painting! Nice work, Brenda!
