On the Rocks

These are beach stones from Cape Breton Island that I put in a shot glass I found at Goodwill for 69 cents. I had fun with this one for several reasons. First , I love painting stones. Secondly, I'm enjoying (much to my surprise and delight) painting glass. And lastly because I did a little experiment. The panel for this painting was toned with Cad red. Tomorrow I'll post a similar one I did on a panel coated with black gesso. Here's the classic ( not classical!) music I painted to today. (To continue looking at the art while you listen, right click on the colored word 'music' and go to Open Link in New Tab.)
Oil on panel, 6" x 6", $100 (with free display easel) + shipping

Great rendering of the glass...not so easy to make it believable! And as a color-freak I heartily approve of the liberal colors...nice!
