Full Circle

This was kind of a cool experiment. I used metallic gouache to tone the panel. It's a warm coppery color. Then I painted the stones, shadows and some implications of the beach sand around them. I then went back in with the gouache to shine it up a bit. It's really quite a lovely glow in person, but of course I wasn't able to capture the subtle sheen of copper pigment digitally. You'll just have to visit me in Dixmont to see for yourself...okay?

Hey Brenda, another great one! I love that you are experimenting with the metallics. I may take you up on the invitation to visit Dixmont someday- maybe I'll get up there next summer.
I will have two quick days in Maine Aug. 18th and 19th, but only as far as Kennebunk!
