Surfacing

Our daughter, Molly, got an underwater camera and was trying it out last summer. At the time I thought the photos were cool. I recently came across them again and decided to try and paint this one. I gotta admit I had no idea how to paint someone under water. I was pleased with how it turned out. Because of all the bubbles in front of her face, Molly suggested I call this one Air Head...but I just couldn't!

I think you made the better choice by sticking with the title of "Surfacing" than "Airhead"... but the thought of that title does make me chuckle! I LOVE the painting and you did a fabulous job of giving it that "under water" feel.

Isn't it great when you try something new and it works this well? Great job-good title.

So interesting. Great job with a tough subject.

I love that you try new subjects now and then. I imagine this could have been challenging but fun to paint. You did a great job.

For someone with no idea how to paint someone underwater, it appears you figured it out! This is amazing, I love it!
