Wow Brenda, you didn't make it easy for your first knot, I admire your boldness of picking a sheer and decorated one, and all those shaded areas. I'd have probably gone with a plain, matte ribbon. lol Lovely, fun painting. :)
Phew is right! I never thought about it before, but a knot as a subject, or rather still life object, would drive me crazy. That is what I would call "mind bending". Perhaps it would be more appropriate to say "mind twisting". I love all the color - happiness. Carolina
In regards to the color, Brenda, what I should have also told you was the reason why the color of the lemon and ribbon seem to work so well for me- it is the color of the background. You are really good at not forgetting that color, in every part of the painting, has a way of affecting how the viewer perceives the color in the main subject of the painting. This is something I need you to remind me of - regularly- if I ever throw myself into painting. You are a master at it ... You never leave it to chance that the subject will go it "solo". It is a BIG lesson to learn. Your paintings are continually teaching me. Carolina
