Follow the Leader

This line up amused me. They looked like they were all waddling into place behind the lead pear. I was really trying to get the 3-dimensional depth on a flat surface. Don't know if I succeeded, but I had fun trying.

    Yes, I would say you succeeded. You definitely have depth and a sense of space in this painting. It's also obvious that the pear is a shape you enjoy and that you've had much experience with. The front pear looks so real and ripe, you could pluck it from the scene and take a juicy bite. The subdued colors of the other two push that one forward into the limelight (or pearlight??). Also the colors in the background are just beautiful. I enjoy seeing a new painting every day!
    I love your work -- it all comes from the heart.

    hmmmmmm.... Looks like it could be your child shining in the light after an accomplishment of any kind ( dance recital, getting a basket, or getting a C on a Math test that they studied so hard to pass and thought they would fail :) and Mom and Dad in the background looking on with pride of how hard their child worked!! Just saying hahaha
