I recently posted a painting, Falling, where I applied gold leaf to certain leaves and painted the background and other leaves in and around the metallic ones. This time I did just the opposite. I used gold leaf in the negative spaces around my oil painted leaves. Fun to work both ways. Since we here in mid Maine got snow on Halloween, I thought this title was appropriate.
Oil on panel, 6" x 6"

Wow! All of those vibrant shades of red are just spectacular against the gold leaf. Interesting to read about your reverse process, too. You've managed great results both ways. Way to go!
