Only Have Eyes for You

Here's the last in the wing series. This is a huge moth (see image below of my daughter's hand) we discovered on our front door many years ago. I've not seen any like it before or since.  I love this version of an old classic tune. I used to sing it to our kids when we were out in the hot tub under the stars...fond memories.

And here
's a montage of the wing series. I worked from reference photos I shot myself over the past several years

  1. Cecropia Moth
    (Hyalophora cecropia)

As an adult, a moth, you never eat
for you are interested in one thing
and one thing only; in egging
each other on, indeed, for you
    only have eyes for you.

    As the artist brushes past,
    colors fluttering in oil,
    a white highlight in black
speaks to the artist, the I,
    only have eyes for you.

    And so you stay
    past your short life
    of two weeks,
    forever looking
    out from fine art.

    wingspan up to six inches,
    are nocturnal and have
    no functional mouth parts
    or digestive system for the
    only live a maximum of
    two weeks to reproduce.)

  2. These are very cool and have a nice abstract quality to them. I wondered where you got your referances!
