A Little Closer

Same pears...different pose. Each one has its own 'attitude', don't you think?

Yes, the one in the middle wants to be the center of attention with his bright color! Great painting and great glow.

Presence. Your pears have presence. I had to think about it for a while. I came to your blog, then went away, then came back. I have had to do this over and over again with your entire pear series to try and figure out why I like this pear painting so much. Most anything you paint that has red in it, like the bright red in the pear painting called "Body Heat" usually succumbs to being on my "Favorites" list. (the geese, the cows, and the chicken are at the tip pity top of said list). I think the pears have a sense of place - like they're in a specific place, and they have a certain "weight" to them. The best verbal description for what I am sensing visually, is that the pears have "presence" in this painting. It is very successful. Carolina
