Jailbird

I did this painting as part of a Daily Paintworks Challenge. The task was to paint an all white object in full light on some type of printed fabric...using only primary and secondary colors.Well, the color part was a cinch for me since that's pretty much all I use anyway. Having said that, there's a LOT going on here! The light and dark sides of the pot, the shadow of the pot on the stripes of the fabric, the stripes of the fabric reflecting on the pot, the shadow of the handle reflected in the pot. Phew! It could have gotten mind boggling, but all I reminded myself throughout was 'paint what you see'.

  4. You really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one! Great job on all the shadow and light an reflections. The composition is terrific. Love how the pot is on a diagonal across the painting and the stripes run across the other way. Great job!
