Soft Touch

This is the first time I experimented with a black background. I coated the Gessobord panel with two coats of black gesso. Once it was dry, I painted as usual. Next time, I will try to leave more of the black exposed, particularly around the edges of the subject. With this one I was really working on lost and found edges. I love trying to get them to fade right into the background...and just disappear.

    Beautiful! I especially love the choice of background color, the stems, the touch of red and how you handled the highlight. Very nice work!
